I decided to watch the soccer game of Russia vs. Spain today…although I decided a little too late. I only got so see the second half. =( Anyways, I enjoyed the game very much. Russia didn’t really seem to do too much damage…and Spain seem rather klutzy. But then again, who am I to criticize? The game was very intense. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so excited for a game like that since Homecoming last fall.
I really can’t believe that Sweden lost to Russia..but oh well.
The ironic part of this game is the colors. Gold/yellow is considered unlucky in Spain…they won the game 3 to 0. xD Thats awesome! At first I wanted Russia to win because then Germany could play them and kick their asses…but then I saw how they played…and decided that they shouldn’t even make it past this round. I started cheering for Spain of course. xD Whenever Spain scored, the best part was when the camera showed the expressions of the Russians. They were totally blank! xDDD Blank faces standing in the rain…it was awesome. xD
The final game, Germany vs. Spain is this Sunday at 1:30 central time on ABC…of course its just my luck that I have to work then too. Work doesn’t usually end until 2:30 or 3…so hopefully I’ll be able to watch at least part of the game. I know Kirsten and Lasse will be watching for sure. xDD I’ll be cheering for Germany of course. Not only because of Lasse and Kirsten but because I’m 97% German. =)
When the new Euro soccer season starts again I’ll have to watch more games. I don’t really have a favorite team except Germany…and I’ve never seen them play yet. xD No, I need to watch more games. Norman tells me I should watch Cricket instead. All I can say is WTF? It might be popular in Sri Lanka but they sure as hell won’t show the games on ESPN. Although, he did say if he had to support a soccer team it’d be one of the British teams…I forgot which one. I don’t know why either, he doesn’t really like the British.
